Greek Language & Intercultural Communication

Language is more than a system of vocabulary and grammar. It is a way of perceiving, communicating, and relating to people, culture, and everyday life.

My approach to teaching Greek is rooted in communication, cultural understanding, and meaningful use of language. Lessons are designed not only to support linguistic development, but also to help learners gradually feel more familiar, confident, and connected within the Greek-speaking environment.

Having grown up bilingually, speaking both Greek and German, intercultural communication and language learning have been an essential part of both my personal and professional path. For more than 30 years, I have worked in the field of education with children and adults in schools, language institutes, companies, and private settings.

My teaching experience includes:

• Greek language teaching for adults and children
• work in primary and secondary education
• language courses for foreign learners in Greece
• teaching in companies and executive settings
• individual and small-group learning
• conversation-based and intensive courses

Lessons are adapted to the needs, interests, level, and goals of each learner or group. Depending on the focus of the course, they may include:

• everyday communication
• reading and writing Greek
• conversational fluency
• grammar and language structure
• cultural understanding and context
• preparation for living or working in Greece
• developing a deeper understanding of the expressive and cultural dimensions of the Greek language

I work with both beginners and advanced learners, including people who wish to deepen not only their communication skills, but also their understanding of the Greek language and culture.

Particular emphasis is placed on:

• small groups and active participation
• gradual and grounded learning processes
• meaningful communication rather than mechanical memorization
• developing confidence through practical use of language
• learning to read and write Greek from the beginning

Courses are offered individually and in small groups, online or in person, depending on the needs and format of the course.

Group programs are formed carefully according to language level, learning goals, communication needs, and learning rhythm, creating a supportive environment for learning and communication.
